There are two notations on the back of this photo; the first reads "Reverend C.L Shoemaker, missionary from China who delivered address on present day religions and social conditions in China." The second reads " Presbyterian Minister meeting on Mt. Diablo April 24, 1928." In this scene, the minister is standing alongside the entrance to a tent delivering his address to an audience of 25 seated listeners. Some of the audience are on folding chairs, others on cushions.
