Handwritten on the back, "Dietz Opera House 1887." Photo is a copy print of an older photograph of the Dietz Opera House taken from across the street. There is a carriage parked in the street in front of the building and a man crossing the dirt street. There are several street lights and telegraph or telephone wires stretch over-head. There are several signs on the Opera House: "Social Dance Every Thursday Evening Best in the City," "For Mayor Thomas Booth," "Socialist Party..." There is also a sign at the top of the building that says "Rooms for Rent."
