Life preserver vest, made of orange canvas by the Safeguard Corporation, Cincinatti, OH. It has printed inside: "Passed U>S Coast Guard Marine Inspection AFN October 8, 1965, Baltimore, MD." On the back " Inspected Sept 20, 1965, Cincinatti, OH. and also "USNS Walker." Found in the US Navy Ship General Nelson M. Walker. The last transports done by the ship were to bring troops to and from Vietnam into Oakland, CA, before it was taken out of service in 1967. This is a collection of artifacts found on the ship after it was taken out of service.
