The photograph is a headshot of Raoul Dorsay in a suit and tie. The caption on the reverse reads: "These persons figured in today's shooting tragedy in which Raoul Dorsay, deputy U.S. marshal, shown upper left with his wife was shot and killed by half blind and deaf William Pierce, 73, upper left, who mistook Dorsay for a prowler. Below are Police Inspectors Clye Croswell (left) and Emil Hamm holding the shotgun used in the shooting. They were with Dorsay when he was killed."

Dorsay was Deputy U.S. Marshall and was slain 11/25/1937.
