Wooden lid for plastic barrel (2010.33.3A). Two squares of 1/2-inch plywood with rounded corners, with four blocks of wood separating them, and four more blocks under the bottom layer of plywood. Four screws hold the layers together. Stenciled over the white paint of the top layer, in blue, are the words "WATER" and "AGUA" (the Spanish word for "WATER"). Water Station is an organization that places these barrels in the desert near the California/Mexico border, placing water bottles inside for border-crossing immigrants to drink and thus avoid dehydration.
