Printed badge showing Agent Robert Wimer Rosas, showing his portrait with the words "Robert 'Junior' Rosas, 06-19-79-07-23-09," the words, "Agent Robert Wimer Rosas Assassinated Thursday, July 23, 2009," and a logo for the U.S. Border Patrol. The badge is laminated in plastic and has a plastic/metal clip attached to the top. Used by the Campo Minutemen. Deborah Sattler, a member of the Campo Minutemen, wrote the following to accompany this artifact: "Border Agent Robert Rosas was shot and killed while on patrol near Campo, California, at approximately 9:15 pm. He was shot multiple times after exiting his patrol vehicle on the Shockey Truck Trail along the border. Agent Rosas was following a group of suspicious individuals and had radioed for backup from other agents. The group split up before the backup agents arrived at the location and Agent Rosas began to follow one of the smaller groups. The responding agents located him suffering from several gunshot wounds. Agent Rosas had served with the Border Patrol for three years. He is survived by his wife, 2-year-old son, and 11-month-old daughter. A Minuteman was one of the last people to speak to Agent Rosas and heard the assassination. The buttons for David March [see 2010.45.4] was paid for by his union, however the Minutemen made their own Robert Rosas buttons as not to have any one profit from the event."
