Four (4) butterflies in a Riker Mount which is a thin, glass-topped, cotton-filled exhibition case. The right butterfly is 2 1/8 x 2 1/8.  The lower butterfly is 2 1/2 x 3 1/4. The Black Swallowtail has a black body with yellow spots on each side. The wings are black with two bands of yellow markings running laterally. On the lower wings, the female has a blue band between two yellow bands, with a red spot near the tails. The male has less blue and more distinctive red spots than the female. On the ventral side of the hind wings there are brilliant orange and blue lateral markings, while there are two rows of yellow lateral markings on the forewings.  The top and R specimens are male and the bottom and L specimens are female. Verso from top to bottom: P. asterius, A dark pink stamp that has a box with the following information inside: "Collection of Clay Ward Inglewood-California NAME [line] on DATE [line] LOCATION [line]" In black handwritten ink on the NAME line: "P. asterius" In black handwritten ink on the DATE line: "June 14, 1930" In black handwritten ink on the LOCATION line:"Haledon, N.J."  In handwritten black ink "Common Amer.
