Three (3) butterflies in a Riker Mount which is a thin, glass-topped, cotton-filled exhibition case. They are staggered. Forewing with diagonal band of yellow spots. Tails are edged with black and filled with yellow. The top butterfly is a female and the bottom butterfly is a male. No indication for the middle butterfly. They range in size from 2 3/4 x 3 1/8 to 3 x 3 1/4. Verso: Reversed-A dark pink stamp that has a box with the following information inside: "Collection of Clay Ward (obstructed by a hook used to hang the mount) Inglewood-California NAME [line] on DATE [line] LOCATION [line]" In black handwritten ink on the NAME line: "P. Cresphontes" In black handwritten ink on the DATE line: "June 12, 1931" In black handwritten ink on the LOCATION line:"Appleton, Tenn" Below in handwritten black ink is: "Giant Swallowtail". Male and Female symbols are stamped below in pink that correspond to the butterflies on recto.
