Motorcyle. Description: customized 1972 Harley Davidson, ID# 3A52537H2, pearlescent orange paint, silver and copper leaf decoration, extended front wheel, engine and metal parts heavily chromed with floral engraved carbueretor covers and side brackets, gold plating on brackets and springs on handlebars, black leather seat, leaf decoration ends with eagle heads. Condition: new History: Named "QuickNess" ibm 6-23-88 Remarks: Acquired for Cowell 20th Century project From the History Information Station: Object: Harley Davidson Sportster Motorcycle, 1972. Customized body with silver and copper leaf, gold plating, and engraving. History: Arlen Ness customized this motorcycle in 1984. He used it for display and in competition naming it "QuickNess." Regular shows were held where customizers exhibited their artistry. Arlen Ness has won many trophies for his superb machines. This one has a tangerine orange body with copper leafed and painted designs and engraving on the chrome parts. Museum Purchase
