Photo is part of a panorama that has come apart. The two pieces of the caption from the Tribune read as follows "Here is a panoramic view of the Moore Drydock Company shipyard yesterday as crowds gathered to witness a keel-laying and the launching of a ship. The k....of a new 495-foot freighter is shown laying on the platform to right. ...center, drapped with the American flag, is the lighthouse tneder Walnut, about to be launched. Joseph Moore (inset) is president, of the dry dock company. - Tribune photo." This half of the panorama shows three ships docked. The ship on the left is the one being launched. A wood platform decorated with bunting has been built in front of the ship and several people are standing on the platform. The ship has an American flag decorating the front and signal flags decorating the wires over the deck. A launching ramp is on the right side of the photo leading down to a ship already in the water. A good size crowd of people, both men and women are gathered in front of and walking toward the ships.
