A wood platform decorated with bunting has been built in front of the ship and several people are standing on the platform. The ship has an American flag decorating the front and signal flags decorating the wires over the deck. A launching ramp is on the right side of the photo leading down to a ship already in the water. A good size crowd of people, both men and women are gathered in front of and walking toward the ships.
