Clipping on the back, June 7, 1942-- "Florence Vassaro, accounting department employee, unveils Hirohito's portrait in the Moore Shipyard commercial section while Romeo Gilardi, the painter, watches. Purpose of the picture is told at the bottom." Photo shows a woman standing at the base of a cartoon drawing of Emperor Hirohito. She is holding the canvas cover that was over the cartoon. The painter is standing behind her looking up at the cartoon. The cartoon sign says "Black Out the Rising Sun With Hull 201" and has percentage points marked up the side of the drawing. As the ship was finished, the cartoon would be painted over. Hull 201 was a class-2 hospital ship named the "Tyron." It was launched October 21, 1941 and delivered September 29, 1942. The ship was sponsored by Mrs. Roy A. Hunt. (info from "The Story of Moore Dry Dock Company.")
