Clipping on the back, June 8, 1942-- "This is Hitler- not as he sees himself, but as he appears to shipbuilders at the Moore Shipyard. The caricature adorns a huge production percentage chart. -Tribune photo." Handwritten on the back, "La Vonne Knapp, Betty Davis." Photo shows two women standing at the base of a large caricature drawing of Hitler with percentage points written up the right side of the drawing. At the bottom of the sign it says "Black Out The Axis With Hull 201." [The face of the woman on the right side of the photo has been obliterated by white crop marks.] As the ship was finished, the caricture would be painted over. Hull 201 was a class-2 hospital ship named the "Tyron." It was launched October 21, 1941 and delivered September 29, 1942. The ship was sponsored by Mrs. Roy A. Hunt.
