A newpsaper article with portraint, rubber stamped Jun 14 1935 reads as follows: "Diplomas will be presented to more than 165 seniors at commencment exercises to be held at Hayward Union High School next Wednesday night, Principal F.F. Johnson said today. Dr. Tully C. Knowles, President of the College of Pacific at Stockton will be the guest of honor and principal speaker. Speakers, representing graduates, will be John Pullman, class president." The article continues on, naming other speakers and honorees.[In all likelihood, John Pullman would be the grandson of George Pullman, developer of the Pullman Sleeping Car.
