A low altitude aerial view of the Alameda County ccourthouse, with Lake Merritt as a backdrop in the upper left corner. The site of the Oakland Museum at lower center is being excavated. Between the museum site and the Courthouse there is a row of three-storey residences. The billboard that advertised Chervrolet cars in 2000.1.1056 is now shown from the back. Automobiles are in motion and also parked on the street, but in particular in the parking lot of what will later be part of the Oakland Museum. The Oakland Auditorium can be seen at right center. A pile driver is at work on a roadway near the southwest shore of Lake Merritt.
