The notation on the back of the photo reads "First Auto Meat Delivery Truck to enter San Leandro. Owned and operated by Harry Eber (in driver's seat). Taken on Washington Street, San Leandro, in 1912. Mario Shoe Shine Parlor collection 1110 East 14th street SanL Leandro 2-22-[19]22" In the photo Mr. Eber is seated behind the steering wheel of his pickup truck. His truck has pneumatic tires, a side mounted horn [operated by a squeeze of a rubber bulb], and oil headlight lamps. The vehicle is chain driven. The bed of the truck has sloping wooden sides, and in this scene is carrying haunches of 9uncovered) meat. The truck is shown diagonally, away from the curb, in a residential neighborhood. Mr. Eber is wearing a suit jacket and a cap.
