The notation on the back of the photo reads "Property of Mr. G.L.Roberts 8917 AStreet Hayward." [which must mean the photo itself JM 926/2000] This is a landscape photo, taken from a slight elevation. There is one possibility as to its location: the resemblance to the the photo in 2000.1.1111, and the clue is the small tower at left lower in the photo, which just might be the College Tower descri8bed in the that photo. If so, this would put the location as downtown Oakland. What is shown in this photo is a three- or four-storey brick residential building at the left edge, a long barn-like buidling at the right edge, and many, many two-storey, wooden residences throughout the photo.
