The clipping on the back of the photo ,dated May 13, 1969, reads "Equipment is working around the clock on this six-lane detour as engineers shoot for restoration of service in 10 days." Earth moving eqwuipment, a grader, and a roller are working on a slope beneath the roadway. Auxiliary supply vehicles and a tank truck are on freshly graded earth in the background Vehicles are moving on the roadway toward the camera.
