The notation on the back of the photo reads "Gen[eral] view of project-Fall out on left Detour construction on right." Earth moving equipment is already in the collapsed area of I-80. The chasm is barricaded off. Northbound traffic is moving in onelane. Earth movers are at work leveling the hillside in preparation for the detour for both north- and south-bound temporary roadways. A truck-mounted drilling rig is at the right lower corner.
