A typewritten notation on the back of this aerial photo reads "For library file Shows in Walnut Creek Bypass Freeway construction program. View is toward the south--Oakland to right, Danville to background, Concord out of photo in foreground." What is now I-680 runs straight from bottom left to interchange/bypass and then veers sharply to left toward Danvile. What is now Hiway 24 bisects the angle and heads off to the right to Oakland. Downtown Walnut Creek is bounded by 680 north and south. A school is in the foreground, and houses are scattered throuhoput the photo.
