The Tribune clipping, dated November 8, 1967, on the back of the photo reads NEW FREEWAY--This aerial photo shows 8.6-mile section of Route 680 between Sunol (bottom) and Dublin that opened today. It completes four-lane link from Martinez to Fremont through Concord and Walnut Creek. Construction of the new section was started in October, 1965, cost was $7.9,million. Overpass below is at Scott's Corner near Sunol." The freeway snakes between wooded rolling hills. AT left center another freeway diverges [to Fremont ?] from 680. A large orchard is at lower left, and a smaller one is at upper right, abutting the new freeway. What appears to be railroad tracks from the left edge of the photo to a point at center where they parallel the freeway.
