The Tribune clipping on the back reads "NEW ROAD TO DANVILLE--This is the view looking north from the southern terminus of the new divided, four-lane Highway 21 [soon to be I-680] freeway, being built from the Walnut Creek bypass, 6.3 miles, to a point south of Danville. The road is a quarter finished and completion of the $12,600,000 contract is expected by late 1964. In the picture, Danville is on the left." The new hghway, which runs from upper left to right center, is partially graded, but it comes to an abrupt end at center right, at which point several houses stand directly in the way of the freeway. A baseballl diamon and a school are at center, and what appears to be a railroad track runs from bottom center to left center.
