A Tribvne clipping, dated May 8, 1987, attached to the back of the photo reads "The vacant Acorn Super[market] in West Oakland." The parking lot in front of the market is deserted, except for three automobiles at the right edge of the photo. The distinctive architectural feature, the "floating" roof covering the Acorn logo (a rectangle in a circle) is at center. A sign reading IGA [for International (?) Grocers Association] is just below the roof line at right.
