The Tribune photo, dated october 30, 1955, has the following caption attched to the back 'TOP AWARD WINNERS--These 11 lads were presented Scouting's highest award at the Oakland Area Council's first Eagle Court of Honor of the fall season. From left are, Richard Dowdall, Ronald Pecci, John Kilfoil, Philip Bell, Timothy Newcomb, Herbert Hilton, Walter Voight, Glen Scrimger, Gary Jellman, Charles Da Vita, and Kenneth Stallcup. Pecci and and Voight were awarded he Explorer Silver Star, first such to be presenmted by the Oakland Area Council. The nine others were invested with Boy Scout Eagle rank." The boys, all lined up and facing the camera, are wearing sashes laden with badges over their right shoulder.
