The image is of a colt standing on the far side of full-grown horse, probably the horse that birthed him. The handwritten notation on the bottom of the photo reads "Fern Lea E and colt Valin. Stock Farm [unclear whether the colt or the stock farm is named Valin. JM 11/14/2000] A farm hand is holding the head and the lead of the horse. Two horse barns are on the far side of the horse and the farm hand. A faint handwritten note on the back reads "Fruitvale ave. left side 2nd place north of 14th St." One other notation simply reas "Stock farm."
