The handwritten notation on the back of the photo reads "Montclair Festivel Sunday My estimation at least 5000 spectators," [Whose estimate?, the photographer's or a Tribune writer's? jm 11/14/2000] In the background, there is an overpass. Between the near end of the overpass and the booths in the foreground there is a solid mass of people of all ages, including an infant in a backpack peering over his father's [?] shoudler in the foreground, center. A series of cloth top food [?] booths runs the length of the street that is closed off at the voerpass. A sign on a metal fence in the left background partially reads "Pancake Breakfast" Captive rubber balloons arch over the festival in the background. The light clothing suggests a warm day in September (as per the date--September 22, 1991-- on the back of the photo.)
