The typewritten notation on the back of the photo reads "'Noodles' Fagan newsboys annual parade and show at the Bell Theater, 1914. Fagan and his wife led the parade and this picture was taken on 8th street, east of Broadway, headed toward Franklin Street and the Tribune Building." The parade of boys in double file is headed toward the right side of the photo over a set of streetcar tracks. At the left edge of the photo there is a team of horses pulling a wagon. On the far side of the boys, a sign on top of a two-storey building reads "Blue and Gold Lager." On the ground floor of that building there is a United Cigar store. A sign at right on the side of another building reads "Bull Du[rham], [a chewing tobacco JM 11/21/2000]
