The Tribune photo, dated May 10, 1976, has the following caption on the back: "INDIAN CENTER OPENS -- Indian crafts were on display Saturday at the dedication of the American Indian Center, 517 N. Livermore Ave., Livermore. Peggy Hawley, at left [not shown in photo] demonstrates shawl-making while, at right, Hoopa Indian Anthony Risling shows little Pinger Willie his model of an Indian vilage." A handwritten notation identifies Pinger as "age 2-1/2, daughter of Ira and Diana Willie...." The background of the photo shows framed woven goods on the walls, and chairs, on one of which a person is seated.
