The handwritten notation on the back of the photo reads "Shell Oil Refinery on Suisun Bay." The cracking towers dot the landscape; they and holding tanks contribute to the feeling of a landing on Mars. What brings it back to reality is the small speed boat at bottom center, plying the waters of the Bay.
