The handwritten notation on the back of the photo reads "Clear day for sailing on Lake Merritt." Two sloops, are sailing on the Lake, with a backdrop of apartment buildings. The sloops are manned by two persons. In both , one person is standing near the mast. Each sloop flys a spinnaker.
