The Tribune photo, dated August 18, 1957, has the following caption on the back: "Realization of an early-day dream: passsnger launch service around the lake." The motor launch, Cabrillo, is cruising around the lake in a covered motor launch with many passengers aboard. In the foreground, four El Toro class sailboats, one with its mainsail down, are tied up at a dock on Lake Merritt. In the background approximately 14 more El Toros are sailing from left to right. Between the El Toros and the dock, the Cabrillo is moving, also from left to right.
