This is a photographic negative of an Oakland Oaks batter safely reaching first base. The batter is just stepping on the bag as the first baseman (#2) is awaiting the ball that has nearly made it into his glove. The umpire's head can be made out since it is apart of the picture on the far right side. The background is the third base side.
