This is a photographic negative of a Los Angels Angel about to cross first base during a game against the Oakland Oaks. The first baseman is having to field the thrown ball off the ground. The runners left foot is about to touch first base but it is very possible that he will be called out. In between the two players (in the background) the Oaks pitcher can be seen. The photo was taken from the first base side thus the third base side and stands are the background.
