This is a photographic negative of an Oakland Oaks' base runner diving back toward first base. The diving Oak has his arms outstretched to reach the bag but the firstbaseman #27 has his glove there to make the tag. The first baseman's right foot is near first base and the umpire (to the far right) is about to call the runner "OUT!" The shot was taken from the first base side toward the infield and the stands behind the dugout and toward left field can be seen.
