This is a package (wrapped with a single piece of cream colored paper with two rows of three stripes each of magenta, written in pencil "L78/61 25 c [cents] doz.") of five plain weave white neckties. The ends are squared and machine stitched, the vertical edges are raw. These ties were probably meant to be used only once and then disposed of, because the raw edges would not launder well. They are cut on the bias. From their length and style it is hard to tell if they were designed for use by men or women.
