This is a photographic negative of an Oakland Oaks' batter about to reach first base. The Oaks' player is only a half step away from the bag in in mid-air. His left foot is about to reach the base but the first baseman apparently has just caught the thrown ball. The Sacramento first baseman has his right foot on the bag standing on first base with his right foot. Two other players can be seen in the far right of the photo. The shot was taken from the first base side toward the infield and the stands toward left field can be seen.
