This is a photographic negative of an Oakland Oaks batter running to first base. The Oaks player is two steps away from the base as his left foot is on the ground. The first baseman (#27) is stretched out with his left foot on the bag to receive the thrown ball. The ball is near the ground and is on its way in the picture. The shot was taken from the first base side and the third base dugout and the stands behind it are in the background.
