This is a photographic negative of the San Diego Padres manager in a discussion with an umpire during a game with the Oakland Oaks. The manager who is facing the camera has his left arm out and is pointing toward first base. The umpire who has his side turned to the camerais looking at and possibly listening to the Padres manager. A Padre player is in the background on the far right. The player stands with one end of his bat on the ground and the other in his palm. he player's left hand is placed on his hip. The stands can be seen in the background of this photo.
