This is a photographic negative of three Oakland Oaks in a "pie eating contest." The men are wearing street clothes and kneeling on the ground. All three men have their hands behind their backs. The man on the left has his head up and is looking at the other two players. The man in the middle who looks like Artie Wilson has his head over the plate and he is looking at the plate of the man to his right. The man on the right still has his face in the plate attempting to finish whatever pie is left. In the backgroundfour or five people are standing and conversing. The plates are resting on what appears to be a bench - and it is still possible to see the men from head to knee.
