This is a photo of the famous and successful Greenhood & Moran amateur baseball team of Oakland. The photo was taken in a studio and all the players are posing for the camera. There is a man in a suit on either side of the photo. Their is also a man in suit who is standing in the middle back row. Only one other man in this photo is not in a baseball uniform and he is sitting to the far left with his arms crossed. The men in this photo are from left to right: Manager- Tom Robinson, Jaas Donoran?, McCurdy?, James To Moran?, Harry Nolan, Darby Robinson, Jacob Greenhood, (Middle Row)- Charles Hannan?, George Van Haltren, KC Edwards?, (Bottom Row)- Mascot- Charles Van Haltren, Dave Grant, and Danny Long. The photo is courtesy Bill Weiss from "Always on Sunday" by John E. Spalding. This is the earliest photo of the successful amateur Greenhood & Moran team of Oakland and probably was in 1884.
