For Home and School - Directed Play - Moulds Character

October, 1940 issue of "Children's Activities...For Home and School...Directed Play, Moulds Character." Several of the pages for children to color have been colored. There's a paper doll page "A Little Boy of 1885" by Maurieta Wellman which is complete and uncolored. There are several stories, several puzzles, poems, etc. Characters are repeated in the publication "Goofus and Gallant, The G-Twins" by Garry Cleveland Myers offers two elves who typify bad manners (Goofus) and good manners (Gallant); another favorite is "Little Brown Bear" by Elizabeth Upham, illustrated by Guy J. Brown. Many things relate to Halloween including a "Cat Nut Cup" by Dorothea J. Snow to color, cut and construct, "Funny-Face Place Cards" by Grace and Olive Barnett to color and cut, and "A Mask For Halloween" by Amber Goolsbey. There are a few pages of advertising, including the inside and outside of the back cover. There are also strories about Costa Rica, flags of the Americas, and how to make jewelry out of pasta and seeds.
