The badge has three parts: 1) The first part is the top pin that holds the badge on, and is in the shape of a thin rectangle, with a large square in the middle, there is some etching of leaves in the rectangle, and a bullseye in the square. On the reverse, where the pin is, is the Shreve & Co. title. 2) This section is a series of bars with rifleman written in the center, there are three of these that are latched to each other in a succession of years (like a ladder). On each side of the wording, there is a small circle, inside the circle are a series of numbers. On the left circle, the number 19 is written on all three rungs, on the right circle is listed the last two ts of the year- 04-06 (in desending order). 3) This last part is a cirle with a bears head in the center, around the bears head is written, National Guard of California* Eureka* On the back it says Awarded by the state to 5981.
