People wind around the outside of the stadium. Photo caption reads: Big game panorama - An overflow crowd of 81,459 people jammed into the University of California's Memorial Stadium in Berkeley yesterday to see the 51st renewal of the traditional California-Stanford football series. Balmy skies greeted the fans who wore the blue and gold of California and cardinal and white of Stanford into Strawberry Canyon. Aside from the thrilling game in which Stanford nearly upset the Bears in the final second, but bowed, 16-15, the people were treated to one of the event's most colorful halftime programs. While the marching bands of both schools paraded on the field, the rooting section persented stunts.
