A view of jack London Square looking down at Broadway [?] and the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks on 2nd Street. A scattering of cars is parked on the streets. A large elevated sign on the intersection reads "Jack London Square." A tall flagpole is at the water's edge at the foot of Broadway. A large flat roof over a two=storey building is at right cneter. Freighters and cargo cranes are in the Estaury in the background. One-third of the way up the flagpole is a sign advertising the "Boatel Motor Lodge." A typewritten note is affixed to the back of the photo; it reads " The Oakland Board of Port Commissioners has turned a delapidated waterfront area into Jack London Square, a landscaped center for shopping and luxury dining."
