An aerial view of the Ninth Avenue Terminal, showing a cargo ship tied up at one side of the pier, warehouses, fuel [?] tanks, and small water craft at left. Highway 17 [880?] runs across the scene at center, and beyond, there are the Southern Pacific rail yards. Commerical buildings and a scattering of homes are on the far side of the tracks. A typewritten description is on the back; it reads: "The Port of Oakland's Ninth Avenue Terminal is used primarily for receiving the Port's major import commodity--steel products. The facility offers three ship berths and both indoor and outdoor storage areas." The date of the photo is April 3, 1970, and the photo # is ALA-C19L-204
