A view of what looks like either East 12, 13th, or 14th street looking East in the Clinton neighborhood. The main street, running from lower right to top left makes a c.30 degree turn to the right at left center, while either Oakland or 7th Ave bisects it at center. Cars are moving in all directions. In the left background the Montgomery Ward warehouse can be made out. Looking down the main street, there are one- and two-storey commercial buildings; a building on the left side has a vertical sign which reads "Caliente." At center is a two-storey building whose sign, "Mt. Oak $16 per cord," is painted on the side. Directly in front of that building is a Seaside gasoline station. At the center right edge there is another gasoline station, whose sign reads "Signal Gasoline." A three-storey industrial building is also at the left edge. The Smith Lumber Co. yard is at upper right center, and railroad tracks are on the near side of the lumber yard. cf photo in 2000.2.126 for an earlier photo.
