As per a handwritten note on the back of the photo, this is an aerial view of Mountain Blvd at a cutoff near an [illegible] street. There are housing tracts, curving streets, hilly sections of land, and automobiles moving on the streets in the picture, but none recognizable to the cataloguer.

On 6/14/13 Steve Kline contacted the museum via email with the following message: " I was looking at some of the online images and was able to determine the location of an image that 'was unrecognizable to the cataloguer'... The image is looking North at the current location of the 580 freeway and highway 13. The freeway now obscures most of the roads in the image. However before the freeway was put in Mountain Blvd is the road going north to south and Seminary cuts off to the left and Sunnymere crosses mountain & Seminary. The topo map from below is from 1943 and matches the roads in the image. The roads have been realigned slightly in the 1955 image, however the roads that cross mountain match exactly. What confuses the image is that since hwy 13 is not yet in place, the big cut between the Chabot observatory and Reinhardt dr has not yet been started, so the image looks out of place."
