A banquet is underway in this scene in an auditorium beneath a raised stage. Four men and two women are standing behind the front table. The guest tables are arranged in three parallel rows extending out from the head table. All but a few seats appear to be occupied, and all but one head is turned toward the camera. From the array of table ware, it would appear that the banquet itself has not started. A piano is on the stage, as is a microphone. A U.S. flag is near the stairway to the stage. Extra, empty chairs line the back wall. The date "Feb. 29, 1956" is stamped on the back of the photo. A note in the folder reads "August 13, 1970 Mrs. Abounonrad asked me to send this negative I found among the many pictures my husband, Walter H. Meyer, took over his 40 years of service with your city. It looks quite ancient--at least by the autos parked in front. Use it if you can; will send any others I find as I go thru the assortment.
