This is the interior of the ground level of the Lafayette BART station; the photo shows the fare gate, station agents' booth, and a set of stairs leading up to the train platform. A typewritten description on the back of the photo reads "BART's Lafayette Station, one of six stations serving the Concord Line, features a brightly lit ticketing area with wood-bat paneled ceilings. As patrons pass throught the fare gate into the paid area on the right, they are greeeted by colorful glass mosaic columns, one of which is pictured here. The mosaics were designed by Berkeley Artist Helen Webber and executed by Alfonso Pardinas."
