California Loan Office

Printer's plate, used in printing business cards for the California Loan Company when it was located at 927 Broadway in Oakland. (It later moved around the corner, and was finally located at 9th and Washington, 932 Washington Street.) The plate shows the symbol for a pawn shop, three balls, with each of the three men operating the shop featured in a different ball: L. Bernstein, Mandel Goldwater and A.G. Rehfeld. The phone number listed is: "Oakland 2621." (Metal is white in appearance -zinc ?-.)
