This halter is the blouse of a suit Leta Ramos designed and made. It was inspired by a piece of vintage lace she found in her mother's things (a tucked net collar and jabot trimmed with Irish lace, which would have been worn with a dress or a coat dress in the 1930s). She recycled the piece into the decorative front and neckline of her halter. The skirt of the suit is in the matching shantung. (She is shown in the photograph included in this collection, 2000.61.6, wearing the halter - blouse - as well as the short boots, 2000.61.3.)
